Job Purpose

Audit managers at KPMG manage engagements to ensure the effective planning, delivery and completion of engagements in-line with client, statutory and KPMG audit methodology and business requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage engagements, overseeing the work of team members to ensure compliance with client, statutory and KAM requirements whilst maintain an awareness or relevant internal/external market factors to ensure the effective and timely delivery of engagements
  • Provide top level support and decision making for the audit department and management group
  • Ensure smooth running of the department and report to the leadership
  • Oversee and direct budgeting, planning, coordination and control of engagements to ensure maximised recoverability
  • Direct, coach and mentor team members to assist them in providing effective service delivery and timely completion of engagement work
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, business departments and staff, sharing information to identify and progress current and future audit requirements
  • Contribute towards the creation, implementation and delivery of the departmental business plan

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an Audit Managerial capacity, working in external financial audit
  • ACA or ACCA or country equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programme suite, eAudit, KPMG audit methodology, current accounting and  financial reporting standards including IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Financial Services experience
  • Ethics and independence and client take-on procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor and manage teams of varying sizes
  • Promote and advocate a healthy work/life balance
  • Language requirements – excellent spoken, listening and written English
